Pasand - Harbhajan Talwar
This is a 10 track album with a variety of productions from Dj Vix, Aman Hayer, Simon Nandra, Tarli Digital Sukshinda Shinda percussion and more. It is a variety album, which is his latest album from his previous ‘Ranjhana’. Good album overall.
Jagmohans Track Reviews
Track one ‘Pasand’ is produced by Tarli Digital, where he has just produced this track only. The powerful vocals of Harbhanan work well with the tumbi and bass, with an incorporated MC on the track. Some might criticize that the Mcing has ruined the track as some people don’t appreciate mcing, but it is a smashing track.
‘Tappe’ is a track produced by no other than Simon Nandhra.
This track has two Mcs singing across it, Cheshire cat and Battle katt, who mc across the song which has good production. It consists of heavy dhols and makes the song sound listenable.
Aman Hayers turn next as he has produced ‘Gulabi Chunni’ but he has used an affect on Talwars vocals to electrify it. Sounds kinda fake, and the Hayer production sounds very similar to his other work, which is good if you like his old stuff.
Illegal demo have produced ‘yesterday and today’ This has an MC on the track but the track is really good, as the mc coordinates well with the beats. This is surprising as they have been quiet on the production for a number of years.
DJ Vix(the producer that is, not the boss of this forum lol) is back to do a track called ‘Mitran di’. This is a jungly/drum and bassy vibe track which has guitar samples too.
There is crisp percussion of dhol, dholki and tabla beats along side the drum and bass affect. This puts variety in the album.
Aman Hayer again with ‘Bachke Bachke’ . Which starts off with Mcs, which again you won’t appreciate much if you don’t like mcing. The song is a good filler though, but not one of the best of the albums.
Bob Rai lays down ‘Ghar Vich’ which is a good production with something original. The beat is a sampled loop, so is a sampled song, but the beat does start off with a slow rolling dhol, so hats off for including percussion.
Bob Rai again with a track ‘Glassy’ which is yet another glassy tune…. Which is sounding traditional Punjabi, as a Glassy track should be. It’s about all you desi heads who get pissed ,and is produced well.
Aman Hayer back with a ‘Boliyan’ which is a simple boliyan, with its production. It is certainly one to get you dancing, depending on your mood as it has a fast beat, including a dhol.
The last track produced by Jeet Bhogal ‘Unbreakable love’ is a good song for the album, as it delivers pure quality- from the beat, to the lyrics. Due to the love song it isn’t exactly a party song, but is quality.
I've given album this 6/10.
