‘Collaborations’ - Sukshinda Shinda
This was an awaited album by the bhangra industry, as it was produced by one of the biggest producers Sukshinda Shinda, which includes some of the legends of bhangra, As Kang, Gurdass Mann, Jazzy B. The album has been promoted loads before it was released. The Album includes a DVD and a Cd, and definitely worth buying if you are a looking for something desi on a Shinda production.
Jagmohans Track reviews
The first track is named the same as the album name - ‘Collaborations’ which includes Gurdas Mann, the legend, Sukshinda Shinda and Abrar Ul Haq.
This is one killer track with a basic set of beats, which get lifted by the vocals. The vocals are what make it. What a great first song!
‘Oh Na Kuri Labdi’ is a Jazzy B track, who Shinda has worked with largely throughout his bhangra career. This compromises of strong algozeys and Spanish guitars, which is a good Shinda production. This is a excellent performance from the producer and singer, and just shows how well they really work.
‘Groove Boliyan’ is by AS Kang, who Shinda has previously worked with again which is a fastish song where Kangs Vocals Shine upon. Haven’t heard Kang sing like this for time, and his vocals with the guitar beat really go well.
‘Kurhi Akhiyan Nall’ is by Shin DCS – one of the legends of bhangra up until today. He has changed the vibe on this one by singing in English, something different- as it isn’t a desi track.
‘Hala Lalla’ is a song sung by the late Mohan Singh Nimmana (Shindas brother) and Shinda himself. This is an excellent collaboration between both vocalists, which is very desi style.
‘Boliyan Te Boliyan’ is by XLNC’s Meshi, and is a common Shinda production. Meshi is a good singer and the track works well.
‘Charka’ is sung by Manjit Papu who Shinda has worked with previously. This is not a kicking dancy track but more a meaning one which should be appreciated. The track uses powerful meaning vocals too.
‘Shoulder Surf’ is a sampled beat, but it is defiantly kicking and one of the best from the album. This is one of my fav tracks of the album, which includes Takeover Ent.
An excellent album with a variety of sick vocalists. What else could the moviebox label ask for? This is defiantly one of the best albums of the year, which is expensiver than most albums, but the package is a DVD included. It does however use reused samples, but still they are great.
I've given this 6/10.
